The tomb of the Hasan King is a Mystic Poet

There is a mystic poets tomb in Teghariya area of ​​Sunamganj city. His real name is Dewan Raja Chowdhury. He was born in 1854 in a zamindar family of Laxmanshree village in Sunamganj. His fathers name was Dewan Ali Raja Chowdhury. After his death in 1922, he was buried here.

 

The kings house on the banks of the Surma in Sunamganj has now been turned into a museum. The museum houses various items used by the poet, manuscripts of the poets handwritten poems and songs.

Gaurarang Zamindarbari
 

There is a five hundred year old Gaurarang zamindar house in Sadar upazila of Sunamganj. The construction style of the various installations of the house is quite interesting. However, due to lack of maintenance, the ancient installation is losing its splendor day by day. From Sahebbari Ghat in the city you have to go by boat or trawler to Tuker Ghat, from there by rickshaw to Zamindarbari.

The ancient mosque is located near Pagla Bazar in Pagla Union of Sadar Upazila. The two-storied mosque has three ornate domes and four small minarets at the four corners. The place can be reached by bus from Sunamganj Sadar.

Jadukata river is located in Tahirpur upazila of the district. Lava Devi, the mother of Advaita Mahaprabhu, a devout Hindu, had a strong desire to bathe in the Ganges. But his wish was not fulfilled due to physical illness. Advaita Mahaprabhu flowed the holy water of all the pilgrimages of the world in one stream in a single stream as a means of fulfilling the desires of his mother. This stream is the old Renuka river which is now known as Jadukata river. In Tahirpur, on the banks of this river, Baruni Mela is held every year in the month of Chaitra

 
 

Tanguar Haor with ten mouzas of Dharmapasha and Tahirpur upazilas of Sunamganj district. There are 120 small and big beels in this haor with an area of ​​about 100 square kilometers. About 200 species of guest birds congregate in this haor every year. The haor is home to about 207 species of birds, 150 species of aquatic plants, 150 species of fish, 34 species of reptiles and 11 species of amphibians. In Haore, which is about 40 km away from the district town, one has to hire an engine boat from Tegharia or Sahebbari Ghat in the city.

 

Zamindarbari of Sukhair in Dharmapasha upazila of the district. This ancient house on about 25 acres of land is now on the verge of destruction. In 1922-23, various revolts started from this zamindar house of Sukhair.

Tomb of Baul Emperor Shah Abdul Karim

 

Tomb of Baul emperor Shah Abdul Karim in Dhal village of Dirai upazila of the district. He was born on 15 February 1918. Baul emperor died on 12 September 2009 and is buried here.

Dhal Mela

 
 

The traditional Dhal Mela starts from the first Wednesday of the month of Falgun every year in Dhal village of Dirai police station. Various types of folklore are organized at the fair.
